Students used their knowledge of facial proportions to complete a portrait. They were then taught color pencil techniques such as tinting, shading, hatching, and cross-hatching in order to complete their artwork. In the process, they began to understand how complex different colors can be when put side by side. This will lead us into learning color theory in a later lesson.
