Title I Program
W. A Bass Middle School is a school that receives Title I funds. Title I is the largest federally funded education program in the United States. Bass has a school wide program where all students benefit. Our Title I money is used to provide extra staff, classroom materials, parent involvement activities, and professional development for all teachers at W. A. Bass.
As a parent, you’re part of the Title I team. Title I parents have rights and responsibilities. You have the right to see yearly “report cards” showing how your child’s school is improving. Under the No Child Left Behind Act, you may transfer your child to another school if your school is not making improvements. You also have the right to request information about the qualifications of your child’s teachers. You have the right to provide suggestions and be a part of the school improvement process.
Title I is intended to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments. Title I provides flexible funding that may be used to provide additional instructional staff, professional development, extended-time programs, and other strategies for raising student achievement. |
